About Pique Music
Pique Music is an offline music practice app with 35 exercises, short lessons and a theory reference.
Practice and feedback
Choose an exercise, adjust its settings and answer by listening, reading notation or entering notes. Your first answer determines your score. Sequence exercises award partial credit for correct notes or components. Retrying keeps the original score.
Notation and audio
VexFlow renders notation and Web Audio synthesises the sound. Questions and answer checking run locally. Written construction checks note spelling and register; piano and MIDI answers accept enharmonic equivalents where appropriate. Musical examples can be downloaded as MusicXML.
Pitch input
Touch, keyboard and MIDI input can check pitch reproduction. The app does not assess a singing voice or use a microphone. Polyphonic dictation checks each voice separately.
Sources and credits
Lessons and musical examples were written for this app. Teoria.com informed the original functional brief; Pique Music is unaffiliated and uses none of its text, code, recordings or artwork. Interactive components and backgrounds are adapted from React Bits by David Haz. Interface icons are from Lucide.
